New Horizons Band at Ray's Midbell

Today was a neat day for our Learning Center’s New Horizon’s Band.  Their holiday party was postponed because of the cold, so they had a mini-party today celebrating the New Year before rehearsal.

Pictured above is the full band, and a few original member’s from our first years of the Sioux City group.

Lou RossmanThe New Horizon’s Band is comprised of 35+ members.  Most of these amateur musicians are retirement age and enjoy playing concerts all around Siouxland.  We’re so very blessed to have Dr. Lou Rossman direct the band.  It is a labor of love for Dr. Rossman and he has taken the group to new levels of musicianship.  Prior to retirement he was the Music Department Chair at Morningside College among many other esteemed positions in higher learning.

The band rehearses weekly at Ray’s Midbell Music on Thursdays and they are great ambassadors for Midbell in the community.  We’re very grateful for the quality work they do and they are a testament that music is a LIFE LONG activity!  Watch for a New Horizon’s Band appearance in the Siouxland Community and we invite interested musicians to contact Michael Zellmer-McMahan at michaelm@midbellmusic.com or 712-276-0351 for inquiries about joining the New Horizon’s Band.
