As I listened to Sioux City Symphony Orchestra violinist, Kristin Ortmann play Borowski’s “Adoration” on Facebook today, I was moved. Kristin is one of the orchestra instructors for Sioux City Schools and she has impacted thousands of lives in her music education career.
We had a great time at the University of South Dakota Clarinet Day last week. Special congratulations to our raffle winners, Hannah Koehler from Siouxland Community Christian School and Emily Carlson from Dakota Valley School!
Playing in a school band can be an enriching experience for students. It allows them to develop their musical skills, work in a team, and perform in front of an audience. As a band director, keeping students engaged and motivated to continue playing in the school band is key to building a successful program. The Music Achievement Council has put together MSFQ (More to Start, Fewer to Quit) tips, and we have included them on our site for easy access!
